End Transmission is an up and coming band from Southern California who just released their first album, “Devour” on Missing Words Records. They also have an earlier EP out titled “Head Over Heels.” Both feature unmistakably hook-laden songwriting with Ozma-esque melodies and synth. Although the Ozma comparison is warranted–after all, Devour was co-produced by Ozma guitarist Jose Galvez and also features contributions by bassist Daniel Brummel and vocalist Ryan Slegr–End Transmission distinguish themselves handily by trimming back on the organ and classic rock riffage and focusing on the songs. Standout tracks include “Talking in Circles,” “89,” and “Right Side of the Bed.”
