The Rockman Guitar Ace is a product that’s often caught my eye, but somehow never seemed to offer enough for me to follow through with buying it. Apparently it has been redesigned though and about a month ago, I plunked down my $70 to get it in my hands.
I was looking for a product that would allow me to practice guitar wherever I go and to play along with my mp3 player. The Guitar Ace was the only miniature or headphone amplifier to offer an external input. In my band, we often record new songs so that we can practice along with them at home. With an external input on the Guitar Ace, I can be almost anywhere and all I need is the guitar ace (which is only about as big as a paperback) and a guitar.
One interesting thing I found out about the Guitar Ace - it was designed by Tom Scholz…the founder of Boston! So I ripped off a few bars of “More than a Feeling” and I’m happy to report it sounds pretty good.
All in all, the Guitar Ace is definitely a handy thing to have around.
